A house, in Piedmont

A unique setting for an unforgettable stay

Welcome! We wish to welcome you as guests in our home, offering you an immersive experience in contact with nature and local traditions.

Giarvino is a combination of the Italian words “giardino” (meaning garden) and “vino” (wine), the perfect synthesis of what our project aims to offer: generous spaces, discreet and refined hospitality, privacy and relaxation, in a privileged setting where you can discover the excellence of Piedmont’s food along with its stunning landscapes

We have renovated an old country house in the heart of the Alto Monferrato region which used to be the home of a winegrower, preserving the distinctive features of traditional Piedmontese architecture. The rooms have been modernised and equipped with the latest technological innovations, including installations for the production of alternative energy.

Nine rooms and suites, each one different from the others, tastefully furnished and fitted with the most exclusive comforts await you.

AN ESCAPE FROM THE WORLD

Authentic hospitality,
combining nature, relaxation and good food

The estate is located in the hills not far from Acqui Terme and is surrounded by vineyards, woods and orchards. It is framed by a large garden and a spacious terrace, where you can linger on summer days, sipping a glass of wine and letting your gaze wander over the gently rolling hills.

The garden is the beating heart of the villa, around which a wide range of activities revolve: treat yourself to moments of blissful relaxation by the pool, enjoy a platter of local delicacies in the shade of the tall trees or explore the paths and woods that extend around the estate.

The property offers a variety of delightful dining opportunities: on the terrace, in the garden, in the cellar, in the restaurant, or in the tree house for a romantic tête-à-tête. At your request, our chef can prepare you a snack, an aperitif or an elegant dinner with fresh, local ingredients.
The wine and grappa cellar, which also features bottles made from the grapes of our own vineyards, offers you a taste of the local oenology.

At the end of a day spent exploring the area, you can relax in the small, heated infinity pool, challenge yourself to an exciting game of outdoor chess or enjoy a walk through the vineyards. On cooler evenings, the large lounge in front of the fireplace is the ideal setting for a game of billiards and a chat with other guests. Alternatively, you might like to find your own quiet corner to enjoy the company of a good book.

THE SOUL OF GIARVINO

Romy and Fredy,
the owners

Before finding his vocation as host at Giarvino, Fredy Wiederkehr was head of the Institute for Economic Promotion of the Bernese Oberland region in Switzerland. Creator of a company named “Foxtrail”, he ran it as CEO until 2018. He enjoys sharing his passion for nature, hospitable people of the Monferrato region and the wines of Piedmont with guests, taking them on excursions through the estate’s vineyards and woods and accompanying them through guided tastings in the wine cellar.

Romy Dübener is the lady of the house at Giarvino: her attention to detail and genuine passion for hospitality are evident everywhere you look. An accomplished soprano, singing teacher and choir mistress, she devotes body and soul to music. Romy regularly holds seminars and singing lessons for guests.
She expertly and creatively coordinates cultural days at Giarvino and is always ready to meet guests’ individual needs, discreetly and attentively. In love with the whole of Italy, what she likes about Piedmont in particular are its rather wild nature and the reserved but sincere soul of its people.
